*unemployed*
Sep. 7th, 2005 11:03 amI did it. I quit. *dies*
My new mantra is: "It was the right thing to do, it was the right thing to do, it was the right..."
I'm the third person in my dept to quit in the last month. Another one is quitting later today. Yet another is quitting in two weeks. All of which will bolster my unemployment case for quitting with "good cause."
After this weekend's conference, there will be writing. Much writing. In fact, pirate!Jodi has given me a deadline of Nov 1 for finishing Elisa. And since I fear her greatly, I must comply.
I've gotten such helpful reviews on ch. 4 from the OWW crew. *loffs* Favorite comment so far:
Elisa: "I clutch my skirt with my fingers."
sosostris2012: As opposed to what? Her toes?
(Bwah!!!!!!)
Dude(s). I just quit my job.

Date: 2005-09-07 06:17 pm (UTC)That's a very scary thing you did, but it sounds like what needed to be done. I'm sorry you had to endure such an awful environment for so long.
GOOD LUCK with your unemployment. Sounds like you've definitely got a case there.
And, great luck with the writing. I missed a chapter you put up on OWW, and I'd love to read it. Any chance of getting a copy? (Please? Pretty please?)

Date: 2005-09-07 06:28 pm (UTC)Eeee, of course I'd love to send you the missing chapter. Which one do you need? (And thx for reading. :-) )

Date: 2005-09-07 06:32 pm (UTC)Are you going to stay home and write for a while?
I read chapter 1 and enjoyed it. Last I checked, you still had Chapter 3 up at OWW? Is it still up? If so, I just need Chapter 2. If not, I need whatever falls between Chapter 1 and the next chapter posted.
I'm trying to get back into reviewing. :)

Congratulations on making a bold move. If I was wearing a cap right now, I'd probably doff it to you, because you've garnered a heap of respect and admiration from me.
A small part of me will be hoping the unemployment claim works out for you, but the rest is certain you'll make things work out for yourself.
In short, Go you.

Great timing too, now you will have nothing to worry about when out here.

Date: 2005-09-07 06:58 pm (UTC)And many good wishes for going out and finding a new and much better job.
When you've calmed down enough, please give us a play-by-play of how the quitting went. I'm sure we all want to vicariously experience it. :-)
And since I am back on the job-hunting (no, I still have a job; I just want one that pays more money and has better promotion prospects), do you want to be job-hunting buddies? Like workout buddies? Sending each other encouragement and reminders?
