EW! EW! EW! EW!

Bugs: Colder temperatures forced me to make the annual trip to my water heater (accessible only from the outside) to turn up the temp. Armed with a flashlight and a can of RAID, I crunched courageously through dead grass stalks and left-over almond hulls to the cobwebby door. The knob was frozen stiff--it hadn't been turned in months--but it was no match for my wiry strength. *growls* I peered inside and swept the beam of my flashlight around the base of the tank...and just about came out of my skin! Shiny black abdomens were dripping from the supports. BLACK WIDOWS! And they were everywhere. EW!!!!! I hate spiders with the fire of a thousand supernovas. Now, I can't get their red, Rorschach-y hourglasses or their gleaming exoskeletons out of my head. I've been itching for hours...
