Writerly Stuff for 9/28/05

Progress: 2,052 words on Elisa's Belly. (If I count the words "Chapter 15." They count, right? RIGHT?)

Thank God an editor didn't see this: "You dare not say how lost the hill fok already are."

The words I'll hate most to cut: I'm not done being naked.

Black widows killed: 12 (two-day count) *sigh* While driving to Borders today, I looked in my rearview mirror and saw one, a little one, in my hair. It was harmless, not yet fully black and too tiny for its fangs to puncture human skin. Still. I am out of shampoo.

What Elisa ate today: lamb braised with turnips, fresh parsley, and marjoram

General thoughts: I took yesterday off from writing. I had words. Many words. Alas, I also had a nasty case of chairbutt. This endeavor is certainly shaping me as a person. I could be the reverse mold for a universal swivel chair. Rae's butt before Elisa's belly: (_)(_). Rae's butt after Elisa's Belly: [_][_].

Of course the words "Chapter 15" count. You go into your manuscript and hit count and there they are.

Sometimes when I finish a chapter and I'm done writing for the day, I add "Chapter XX" to the next line and *then* do my wordcount. It makes me feel better on not-so-productive days. :D
