Barely avoided clichés: a hush settles, a warm greeting (I kept them both. Bad Rae.)
The words I'll hate most to cut: She gazes down at the king, her eyes soft and luminous. It's the look of someone pleasantly drowsy after eating an enormous piece of mango pie.
Thank God an editor didn't see this: She looks at the boy with a look of such maternal angst. (and) A wave passes through the poople.
Black widows killed: None tonight, but then, I didn't go a-hunting.
What Elisa ate today: Pomegranate scones, venison with currant sauce
General thoughts: I'm almost through Political Intrigue and will move on soon to Scary Danger. *cheers*
