Progress: A LOT on Elisa's Belly

Made-up words: undyed, kitchenmaster (Oddly, Word has no issue with guerra and sancta.)

Barely avoided clichés: I did alright today. But the adverbs come a-creepin'...

The words I'll hate most to cut: The emotion comes so naturally to him, as if the lines around his eyes and mouth settle into sorrow with comfortable familiarity. (or) I'm relieved to note Ximena's long, gray, pin-less braid.

Black widows killed: 3 (one in the house)

General thoughts: I'm working on the "slow" part of the book. Holy challenge. Every scene has to be so tense in order to carry its weight. Can we get to the smut and violence already??

I get through the non-smut-and-violence bits by having the characters think about committing smut and violence on each other.

MAIN CHARACTER: "Hmm, la la, I have to sit through this court case that creates a turn in the plot...boy, this guy is blathering on, I wish I could kill him and get this over with so I could go home and boink my girlfriend."
