"This story had a lot going for it, but... Please do think of us in the future."

Another Nice Butt rejection. The Nice Butts are good. Better than form rejections, right? (she tells herself firmly.) *sigh*

I'm going to, um, sit on this one a while. See if I can figure out what can be done right(er).

*le sighs* Don't worry, raerae. Lots of people in this world already recognize your talent and hard work. The editors are sure to follow soon.

Have you tried critique groups like Critters, Rae?

I'm a member of OWW, which I love with all my heart and soul. I've heard good things about Critters, too.

Nice Butts are definitely better than form rejection letters, especially phrased like this one. It means they think you've got talent, you're somebody worth watching, but this story just didn't click for them. The fact that you're getting multiple nice butts is a very good sign. So keep those green eyes sparkling like gems!

It sounds to me like you are about to break through. Those nice butt rejection are a promise of sales to come with but a little more work. the editors are liking what they see, just not enough to actually buy it. You're close Rae, very close. Keep plugging away!

I'm about to resort to spamming editors. If I can't break in with quality prose, maybe I can play the numbers game, right????

*g*

Hey, you're talking to a guy who sent out seventeen submissions this month! Surely something will stick!

Yeah, well, it's a bit of a gamble. If they all come back rejected, that might prove more disappointment than even I can take...

After reading your post, I scrolled down through the comments. I kept seeing Nice Butts are good. My warped mind nodded in agreement.

I think you are on the edge getting ready to break through. I was impressed with your writing and stories. I was whining about my own writing to a friend I let read Becoming. I used your story as an example. "My writing is so kindergarten compared to hers. She is awesome."

Yup, you are a Junior and I'm a lowly pre-schooler. I look up to you totally.

Such nonsense. No more self-deprecating stuff. Or I'll make you sit in the corner where naughty little pre-schoolers go. *firm nod*
