Getting over myself...

I got into work this morning and learned about the bombings in London. Suddenly, my job woes didn't seem so woeful. There are people out there with real problems.

Then came the anger. Words cannot describe how much I hate the terrorist mentality. It's the place where logic and reason are beaten to a pulp by raw emotionalism. It makes animals out of men.

Thanks to all my friends who gave words of encouragement about my job situation. I loff you all. (I still have a job so far, but things are goin' down. Management has been meeting behind closed doors for three hours now. They finally ordered pizza.)

And the really good news: 1,000 words happened last night. Angst is good for writing.

And don't worry about 'getting over yourself'. You don't need to get over yourself...unless you are breaking up with yourself or something. Then you'll have to decide which of you gets Butler, plus which part of you gets which stories. Horrible ugly break up.

Best stay with yourself and work it out somehow.

There's no need to worry about getting over yourself, Rae. While a tragedy like the London bombing may well put some things about our lives into perspective, it does not, nor should we allow it to, invalidate our own personal cares or concerns. And honestly, worrying about being unemployed is a very valid concern.

I hope the pizza is a good sign. If not, well, as someone said up the list, there's always Jodi's ferret room. Or mine and careswen's spooky basement.
