A Kid Again

I'm sooo not ready for Hannah to grow up (see icon).

The top of my baby sister's head reaches my breasts now, but she is too far from me in years to be so tall. I wish there was an anti-growth pill, or perhaps a vise for her skinny body. What if I couldn't bend down to kiss the part of her blond hair? What if, when I stalked her with the Tickle Hands of Doom, she stood to look me in the eye and say, Bring it on, Rae! What if her wide eyes stopped delighting in all the amazingly stupid things, the things I can't see without her?

*mourns*

You must not ever let that delight die. Sure she will age, it's envietable, but you can save the child-like wonder. It can live on. Thinking young is easier than it sounds. I should know. (I only feel like about 16 most of the time)

*hugs*
And you're only as old as you feel inside. You can be forever young.

Sister, huh? For some reason, whenever I saw that icon I thought she was your daughter....

You are so not very old yet. :-)

Heh. She feels like my daughter sometimes. We're 23 1/2 yrs apart.

And no, I'm not that old. [livejournal.com profile] jmeadows decided long ago that my mental age is 12. Alas, I must concur.

I can so totally commiserate with you.

However, I will also say that although the Tickle Hands of Doom may some day loose their allure, it will be replaced by the Amazingly Interesting Conversations of Doom. (Unfortunately you usually have to traverse the Teenage Years of Doom to get there.)

Not always, and Hannah's a special girl. I bet she'll skip the Teenage Years of Doom and go straight to Amazingly Interesting Conversations of Doom. :)

I think you may be right. Remember, this is the girl who told me a restaurant lobby looked like "a Star Wars space station with all the strange people."

Lordy, but I love my sister.

My teens aren't so bad and we have remarkable convos. They make me think sometimes.

Good point. The Hannah-Monster can def hold her own in a conversation. She pinned me to the wall with her use of "rambunctious" the other day.
