Oh, GAWD, that's exactly what I'm worried about.

But then, the Republicans said the same thing about Clinton during his last year in office and nothing happened.

But then again, while Clinton is arguably a egotist and a jerk, at least he's not a sociopath on a mission from god.

Nor did he create his own signing statements giving him power over all other branches of government in the event that he declares a national emergency, the definition of which, was extraordinarily vague in Bush's signing statement. So, yeah. This has been my fear for a while.

I am hopeful that at least one of the current red states (Oklahoma, Arkansas, Ohio) that have swung blue in Clinton years will be desperate enough to try that again. It should only take one to swing the electoral votes in Obama's favor. *crosses fingers*

FiveThirtyEight.com says the chance of an electoral tie is 1.08%. Then again, no one could have predicted Florida in 2000, so...

We had an emergency election called in Western Australia. So like good Australians, we trooped to the polls last Saturday.

And oh dear, it was a tie! So now we're all trying to figure out what to do next. Another election? Coalition? Ignore politics completely?

Um, we'll get back to you on this. Maybe.

Come on Ohio we are counting on you! Go Blue!
Even some of the Red people here in Q'town/Wasila (see <http://loismoon.livejournal.com/> for why we are sister cities) are sick of Bush and have been actively working againt him. Heck, the heard of the VFW, who is Red, will not vote for Bush. Maybe there is hope. And remember, Palin is due in court just before the election.

I don't know why I find the Quitman-Wasila connection so humorous, but I do: what I'd like to see is a federally-funded project building a bridge to connect the two, so they could become Siamese-sister cities.

I think Ohio could go blue this year. Not only did they (makes me sad top say 'they' instead of 'we') dump the Republican governor, but Ken Blackwell isn't around to disqualify ballots from heavily Democratic precincts.

The McCain campaign just added three people to their Ohio staff, which includes people with experience in ballot challenging and disqualification. I don't think Blackwell's absence means a change in strategy, just a change in footsoldiers.
