I would love to tell you that this problem goes away after several years of marriage, but apparently seven and a half is not enough time to reach that point yet.
Me: Your home? Ex husband: Yup. Me: Ready for bed? Ex husband: Yup. Me: Good night. Ex husband: Good night. *snores like a freight train* Me: *shakes ex husband* Wake up. You're snoring again. Ex husband: Sorry. *rolls over and snores like a freight train again* Me: Goes downstares to sleep on the couch.
I'd rather be sleep deprived from enjoyable conversation!
Yeah. When you find that you've just spent the last two hours arguing about whether or not Harry Potter is going to die and/or manifest Super Special Hero Powers in the last book, you start wishing that you didn't have quite so much in common. Heh.
Talking is much better than not talking. Even if it about action figures. Also sometimes waking up at 3 a.m., realizing best friend isn't there, and finding him in the living room, not sleeping because he is depressed/stressed out. And then you make coffee and talk more about the action figures.
Glad things are going so well for you, too. It's wonderful when you have times like that. I've been loving the painting because it's one of those with your best friend times.
