I got a form rejection today. Meh. First one in a long time, so I guess I was overdue. *sends story off with good wishes*

I didn't get much writing done today because of thunderstorms. My surge protector was my friend. Still, things got hairy enough that I had to give it up and read a book. (Oh, the suffering.)

The storm was very cool. Lots of lightning (which fried my neighbor's TV) and ear-splitting thunder. I went outside to huggle the dogs as they were in a bit of a state. I mean, this is CALIFORNIA for heaven's sake. Usually, we get a little drizzle and call it "rain."

But the storm has passed (alas) and now I must pretend that today's form reject didn't happen so I can confidently type away.

When I convince you to move to C-ville and go to UV, you'll see some good storms. :)

Well, you'll have to come over for a bit! We get some great storms - although it's been a little while now (guess that's the drought's fault).

:D

*wishes happy typing*

We too in Lexington are drought-ridden, but usually we get lovely storms, with thunder, lightning, hail, and rain so hard and fast that our little street turns into a stream. Tornadoes too. But it's been ages since we had an earthquake, so you might be a little homesick there.

As for the form reject, it says a lot that this is your first one. Take comfort in that. I could paper my walls in the wretched things.

Lexington sounds lovely. :-)

It's my first form reject in a long time, but not my first overall. When I first started submitting a year ago, it rained form rejections. I actually have a Rejection Shrine.

I predict that you won't have much of one. You're too good a writer to get many of the buggers.

You'd better :D

Then I can return the favour *wants to see friends*

Ouch. Sorry to hear about the form rejection, but I guess they'll pop up from time to time until you've reached Stephen King or J.K. Rowling status, where your name alone will mean that the forms stay firmly in the desk drawers.

PS. Love Bites? Ohhh I used to love that song *is yanked back to the eighties, torn jeans and curly hair*

She'll see flooding, you mean. I went to UVA for 4 years, remember. I've never seen rain like that except in the Philippines.

Sorry about the form rejection. When I get them these days I can't help but wonder what I did so terribly wrong. Unless I get it from Asimovs or Realms of Fantasy, then I know it's just business. These days I take form rejections as a personal challenge. Put it an envelope and send it back out.

We don't have thunderstorms as often in Minnesota as we did in Oklahoma, so I miss that. Of course, we also don't have as many tornados, so you take the good with the bad and all!

Yes, my husband sat and watched the lightening while I washed dishes downstairs. Every few minutes he would call down "Whoa, did you see that one?" Maybe when we move to CO in a few years, it will be less of a novelty. :)

Where in CA are you? We live on campus at UC Irvine.

ah Enid, north of Stillwater. I used to live down in Chickasha on the other end of Highway U.S. 81. My wife and I met out in Weatherford, then we lived for several years in Norman while she went to OU.
