Million-Words-O-Crap

I (re)joined the OWW in June of '04. Out of curiosity, I added up all the words I've written since then. (Fiction words only.) And the grand total is:

120,000

Wow. That's just not very much. At this rate, I'll reach my Million-Words-O-Crap goal in eight years. Eight years!! *sigh* Ah well. Those years are going to pass me by one way or the other. I might as well spend them writing.

Yay! It's 120,000 more than if you hadn't written at all.

I remember hearing a story about an 80-year old grandmother who went back to university to get her degree. This 45-year was angsting over whether or not he wanted to spend the next 5-years of his life getting his. "I'll be 50!" he said. "Will it be worth it?"

"Well, in 5 years, you're going to be 50 anyway," she told him. "If you're going to worry about that too, you might as well have a degree to go with it." *g*
