Words today: 1,761
Fingers lost at the BoPE: Only two
New discovery of the day: Free streaming radio. Go 80's!!!
Purchases: Little House on the Prairie, Season One for The Hannah; Tori Amos download for me; Really ewie-gooey lotion stuff for mom.

I began a new novel today. It's a story that's been swimming in my brain for some time now, about a FAT CHICK. The world's fiction does not contain enough fat protagonists. And I'm very pleased with the setting. They say write what you know, so I did. FAT CHICK's story takes place in a fantasy world modeled after Rennaissance Spain / Colonial Mexico. Squeeeee! Mostly, it's just nice to take a little Unmagicked vacation.

And that's enough lj for today. These thoughts are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and words to write before I sleep, and words to write before I sleep.

Wow!!! You like Loreena McKenna AND Tori Amos??? Cynthia and I listen to both those all the time.

Dude...don't you know what this means? I listen to the 80s station too. But, unfortunately, it can only mean that we are no longer with the times. Pah...never did I think I'd be listening to a station devoted to a particular decade like my father does with the 50s and 60s.

When are they going to get early 90s? I'd listen to that one as well...

:)

Very poetic. But I'd hardly call 'Squeeeee' a dark thought. :P

Are you going to use California's colonial past (the missions and such) as inspiration for your new WIP. You are going to need a better working title than FAT CHICK, btw...

Speaking of fatness, I woke up early to run. So I'm off...

Woo, I love Tori Amos! "Winter" is my faaaave. We choreographed a dance to that when I was a senior and won several awards with it... including a choreography award and the announcer didn't believe we did it and he wanted our teacher to come up. :D We did another song to her that year, too... both for our officer dances. I don't remember which one it was though. Take to the Sky, I think.

It is nice to take a break, isn't it? ST was lovely, and I adore it, but Thieves is really turning out to be something I love. It's good to get away from the norm and write something new. Stretch those muscles!

Yeah, I knew I was getting old when I saw one of those commercials on tv: you know...the titles of songs roll up the screen and they play little snippets. It was "80's Rock" and I was like, I want that!!

The poem was a spoof on Robert Frost, so I can't claim credit.

Yeah, FAT CHICK just doesn't cut it. Maybe GIRL WHO EATS ALL THE TIME? I dunno, dude... I'm torn.

Yay new projects! Yay shopping done!

Go Fat Chick! It will be nice to see a woman of substance as the main character. She can nestle right up next to Bujold's older woman with younger lover *grin*

Says casually: "Yeah, me and Bujold..." hahahahahahaha!!!
