Last night at the grocery store, the woman in front of me did the following:

1) Lined up all her groceries on the conveyer belt in two neat rows.
2) She did not use the entire width of the belt.  When she reached the end, length-wise, she waited for the checker to catch up and make more room rather than mess up her two neat rows.
3) She placed food items together in categories. All the cheese together, all the cardboard boxes together, etc. Particularly interesting was about $60 or $70 worth of vitamins, all lined up. If she picked an item from her cart and found there was not an appropriate category on the belt, she put the item back.
4) When the checker got ahead of herself and pulled an item for scanning that was not located at exactly the front, the woman QUICK, grabbed an appropriately categorized item from her cart to fill the gaping hole in her two neat rows.
5) As the belt gradually moved forward, the woman continued to arrange and adjust the items for optimal puzzle piecing. For instance, she placed the bags of cheese on their sides so that no part of the belt could be seen. Or she arranged the cereal boxes so they would not stretch outside the boundaries of her two neat rows.

So, driving home, I asked myself: Self, is there anything that YOU are that OCD about? Here's what I came up with:

1) I must have the toilet paper placed on the roll so that the user pulls down instead of up.
2) I canNOT have hair in my sink.
3) I much prefer the spines of my books to be exactly flush on the shelves.

What about you? Are you OCD about anything?
