Progress Report 3/8/07

Words: 3278 (3-day total)
Thank God an editor will never see this: Serious word rep issue with "life." I'm banning it from the next 2 chapters.
*wordloff* (aka, words the universe will conspire to make me cut): "Mom, hold him!" I demand. I thrust him forward; the umbilical chord is warm and wet against my forearm. "It wasn't him, mom. I couldn't do that. Even Daddy couldn't do that. He's just normal." I'm desperate to make her understand. She needs to love this baby.
random thoughtedness: Writing YA is a very very cool excerise. And also kind of neat. I get to telegraph emotions more, tell instead of show. The thing is, I find myself struggling to make the protag notmature. The voice is completely different. Clari has this self-centered-teen-in-training-to-become-someone--really-cool thing going on, and it's one of the most difficult things I've ever written.
