Rejection: Got a "nice writing but didn't grab" from F&SF on a new-ish novelet. Now I get to figure out who has the honor of assigning Rejection #2.

Work: I love working from home. I design trusses in my pj's. I take a shower on my lunch break. I never fight traffic! *happy*

Mawwiage: The shiny new hubs seems to be working out pretty well. We've been sick together for a few days, and we still like each other. I think he's a keeper.

Weather: The air warmed to a balmy 41 degrees today, and the world began to melt. Outside, the sound of trickling water drowns out even the birds. You can't see most of the runoff...it's trickling away beneath the ice pack. Yeah, yeah, this is all old hat for a lot of you folks, but I'm from California. There, "winter" just means "tanning booth."

There is a word, a glorious, shudder-with-its-poetry-as-it-rolls-off-the-tongue word that has clearly been underrepresented in modern speech and literature.

My activist husband, [livejournal.com profile] ccfinlay, is holding a contest here in an effort return this magnificent word to the vernacular.

I won't tell you what the word is, but you can click here for a hint.
